Mottetto a 4 di Antonio Cifra su un testo usato per la domenica delle Palme, il lunedì santo o - secondo alcune fonti - in passato anche per il venerdì santo. Antonio Cifra, compositore di area romana, fu allievo di Nanino e Giovannelli e compagno di studi musicali tra gli altri di Gregorio e Domenico Allegri. Una volta formato, fu maestro di cappella a Loreto, poi in S.Giovanni in Laterano.

A 4-voices motet by Antonio Cifra on a text used nowadays for the Passion Monday or Palm Sunday, but in the past also during Good Friday. Antonio Cifra, a composer from the area of Rome, was taught by Nanino and Giovannelli; among his co-students there were the two Allegri's, Gregorio and Domenico. He later was chapel master in Loreto and S.Giovanni in Laterano, where he eventually directed once accompanied at the organ by Girolamo Frescobaldi.
