Una sequenza per la notte di Natale (abolita con il Concilio di Trento assieme a molte altre sequenze), a volte usata anche communio o canto processionale. Si tratta di un antico testo poetico del X-XI secolo, in questo caso messo in musica a 6 voci da Cristoph Demantius, compositore tedesco (anche se la sua città natale è oggi in Repubblica Ceca) a cavallo tra XVI e XVII secolo.

Grates nunc omnes
reddamus Domino Deo
qui sua nativitate
nos liberavit de diabolica potestate.
Huic oportet ut canamus cum angelis
semper sit gloria in excelsis.

A sequence for the Christmas Nicht Mass by Cristoph Demantius, German-Czech composer from the turn of the 16th to 17th century.  This sequence was abolished with many others from the Missale Romanum in 1570, after Trient Council.
