​Bonifazio Graziani era originario di Marino, un paese dei colli laziali da cui proveniva anche Giacomo Carissimi, suo contemporaneo e probabilmente conoscente. Soltanto dagli anni '40 lo troviamo a Roma, come maestro di cappella del seminario pontificio dei Gesuiti.
La sua musica liturgica, soprattutto mottetti da 2 a 6 voci, pare fosse molto apprezzata in quegli anni a Roma e non solo, complice forse anche l'anno santissimo 1650, indetto da papa Innocenzo X, che attrasse a Roma pellegrini e musicisti.
Questo mottetto, il cui testo è preso dal salmo 91 (introito e graduale della Festa di Tutti i Santi) e dal discorso delle Beatitudini, fa parte proprio della prima raccolta di mottetti di Graziani, pubblicata nel 1650.

Justus ut palma florebit, sicut cedrus Libani multiplicabitur in domo Domini. 
ad annuntiandum mane misericordiam tuam, et veritatem tuam per noctem,
[Plantatus] in domo Domini, in atriis domus Dei nostri. Alleluia.

Bonifazio Graziani was born in Marino, not too far from Rome, the same village and the same time of Giacomo Carissimi, whom he probably knew. He was in Rome since the 1640's, maestro di cappella of the Jesuit Pontifical Roman Seminary.
His liturgical music (mainly motets for 2 to 6 voices ) was pretty much appreciated in his time, and 1650's Jubilee in Rome must have been a good chance to spread it among musicians from throughout Europe. 
This motet is taken from his first collection, published in that year.

The righteous shall flourish like a palm-tree: and shall spread abroad like a cedar in Libanus.
To tell of thy loving-kindness early in the morning : and of thy truth in the night-season;
Such as are planted in the house of the Lord : shall flourish in the courts of the house of our God.
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: 
for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, 
which God hath promised to them that love him.
